Attention please, support need
Emily, Christina and Hung Kiat,
ATTENTION PLEASE!!!
Please support my assignment weblog by giving comment!
We are writing a blog for our assignment,
we are given specific topics for our blog posts.
Yet,
the weblog still incomplete but its 60% completed.
please support it by writing comments; writing your perspectives towards the topic I wrote.
You may review by Emily's comments there. Haha!
She is the first one who left comment, thanks!
Because we need more comments to gain more marks.
The reason is because we have to make the blog to look like professional journalistic blog, so we have to gain comments to make it look alike.
The marks are given based on the similarity level of professional journalistic blog such as the professional design layouts, professional writing, news writing skills, blogging skills, informations, images and contents.
Blog (35%)
Due: Friday week 13, 5.00 pm
Submit: Gradebook only: attach feedback sheet (see below) with your name and URL.
Task: Create a blog with your professional commentary on current publishing, media and design issues.
Posts
- The minimum length of each post should be 150 words.
- Post regularly (every week) to your blog.
- Each summary, review or comment should show a high level of professionalism, designed to attract comment from industry commentators and critics.
Register
Blogs are generally a more relaxed style of writing so for this assignment the register you need to adopt is similar to that of a journalist writing for The Australian newspaper in an opinion section. You may use the first person if that suits your writing style.Content
The content of your blog needs to remain on a professional level. Think of it in terms of you being a journalist student who is putting together a showcase of your writing to show a prospective employer. You present not only your resume, but suggest that they also take a look at some of your work online.
Start with a catchy title and by-line. This should explain, at a glance, the purpose of your blog. The blog must include individual posts about the following:
1. What sorts of things should a writer consider before putting 'pen to paper'? (Use e-reader for references.)
2. Name/explain at least six important factors in good document design. (Use e-reader as your reference.)
3. What are some of the issues you need to consider when designing text for the web? (Use course e-reader, reading 07.02, page 8, 'Designing documents for web distribution' for reference.)
4. New technology affects the way we communicate and design our 'documents'. Find and discuss your own example of a new form of publishing. For example:
- getting the news: online newspapers/magazines as opposed to printed version
- e-commerce (e-bay, gumtree.com) as opposed to classified ads in newspapers
- GPS in cars as opposed to the old street directory.
5. Make a list of links (on your side bar) of at least six professional links to useful sites on topics such as design issues, writing, editing, style and fonts.
6. Media issues: 4-6 regular postings of not less than 150 words each on chosen media/publishing issues. Summarise the issue, give the source and a mini editorial from your perspective.
7. Find two blogs that you think are well done: provide a link to each and briefly tell us what they do and why you think they do it well.
8. Your reflection on the process of creating the weblog:
- what skills you gained with regarding to writing to an audience?
- what skills did you gain regarding design?
- what is your view on blogging?
Haha! And when I saw this picture in my computer while uploading pictures, just want to ironically ask you, are you trying to advertise men's boxer as the ad behind you? Similarly showing body stature as him? LOL! He didnt blood leh, why you blooded?
